For your consideration we are offering for sale this Fabulous 1946 Parker Duofold Senior Green Gold Celluloid Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Gold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with no brassing. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color, also, with no brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 6 (1946) in the second quarter". The transparency of the barrel is great as one can easily see through it. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses and it will fill full. This Vacu-Fill unit is in excellent condition; it operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
This Duofold comes with a 14K "V" NIB with the correct date code on the NIB for 1946 in the second quarter. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker "V" NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .71mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, the NIB writes with a fine to broad stroke line. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke measuring at .47mm and can flex to a broad stroke of roughly 1.06mm with medium to firm pressure, I did not want to overextend the NIBs capabilities. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a fabulous vintage Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Green Gold Celluloid that would easily grade in the Excellent Condition and boards on Near Mint Condition. Certainly a collector grade writing instrument and is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
